What is Open Channels Publishing?

Since 1985, I‘ve had a vision of being able to support writers bringing a clarity and truth to their work as an “open channel” for their contribution to a vital planet. I established OCP to honor those creatives who’s message is so clear and personal that it can only be brought to the world directly.

Brief History

In its early years Open Channels Publishing produced the Whole Health Directory, a Guide to Wellness Practitioners in Northern Vermont, Geneva and the Environment: A guide to International Environmental Activity and Organizations, and a free quarterly publication distributed in the greater Burlington, VT area called Conscious Times

Through the 90’s and 00’s, my talent for design work then drove the business in the direction of marketing and promotion coupled with graphic design targeting social-good businesses (there was no B Corp back then!) ready for integrating web and print during the early years of the world wide web. Doing business as Paul Schmidt Interactive Design, Paul specialized in business ID packages capturing the essence of an organization both visually and with brand driven UX, integrated product packaging design, copy writing, and communications planning.

Most recently, through my consulting work I mastered the art of high level engaged on location and online events, producing and hosting truly global convenings, symposia, retreats, summits, and classes for clients like; Pax Christy on behalf of the Vatican, the Fetzer Institute, Columbia Teachers College, Collaborative for Spirituality in Education, the Conscious Leadership Guild, and others.
